IT service management is a key strategy for companies as they turn to technology to generate revenue, serve customers, and out-perform the competition. ITIL certifications are up in the US according to an article in the Federal Times.Fred Thompson reports that 100,000 people are projected to take the ITIL certification exam in 2006 -- that is "up from 10,000 in 1999, and 65,000 in 2004." The US is not the only region experiencing growth around ITIL certification. Analyst firm Pink Elephant reports that Asia-Pacific, too, is experiencing increased interest in ITIL, adding new certification courses in Australia.
